Orkney is an archipelago of 70 islands on the northern coast of Scotland, of which about 20 are inhabited. The history of the archipelago is rich and legendary, and it is the oldest settlement in Western Europe. The archipelago has existed for at least 8500 years and their Neolithic sites were designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Prior to this, the Vikings ruled the island, where they established the Pictish Kingdom. The disappearance of Picts is still a mystery today, and it is possible to theoretically genocide and then integrate into the Nordic culture.

The Orkney Islands have great archaeological value, and Ben Price, a student at the Institute of Archaeology at the University of the Highlands and Islands, hopes to use the latest technology to study. He is very interested in the first to third century CE molds used to create islander jewelry.

These molds were originally discovered in Southern Ronaldsay Island, but the molds are so fragile that they cannot be used to make jewelry. Price doesn't want to risk damaging the mold, he wants to 3D scan them and create a digital model of the "pin" and then use wax for 3D printing . After the "pin" 3D printing is completed, the clay is wrapped around it and a new mold is formed, the wax is melted, and then the molten bronze is poured, so that a new pin can be obtained.

They chose bronze as a material because Cairns did it many years ago. Creating a mold and recreating the jewellery allows them to learn a part of life in the area by hand. Martin Carruthers, the master of the master's program, explains: “This process provides us with a unique and exciting observation. Objects, we feel the beauty of 2000 years ago. This process has also opened up many possibilities for experimental archaeology."
