Tribute to the United States pilot Bo Laishi launched BR03-92 EDC 2/4 La Fayette limited edition watch
In 1916, the "American Squadron," composed of young volunteers born on the other side of the Atlantic, soon won the title of "La Fayette Squadron." The move was to pay tribute to Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette. In 1777, La Fayette came to France from France, providing important support for the local independence movement. In 1914, these American volunteers decided to join the French army to fight for justice and freedom. In the meantime, the United States has not been involved in the war.
Eighteen months later, the volunteers officially became fighter pilots, subject to their nationality, under the command of Captain Georges Thénault. They devoted their lives and glories to the N124 squadron, which had a legendary position in the history of World War I.
La Fayette Squadron also won the nickname of the Squadron of Squadrons because of the Sioux Indian design on the plane. After World War I, the squadron had existed for decades and performed its duties in the ensuing clashes involving Indo-China and France. In 1947, it was renamed the 2/4 La Fayette Fighter Squadron.
