This summer, Hormel brand cooked food products have achieved very good business benefits due to the use of cutting-edge packaging technology, a sliding type closed package. It is understood that the first Hormel company used a slide-type soft-pack closed bag produced by Pacitv to make its product packaging reach the industry-leading level. To cope with the soft-packed closure bags, Hormel uses a horizontal thermoforming-fill-seal packaging machine. According to Hormel company stakeholders, although consumers do not understand the extent to which the packaging process can be achieved, they do like the slide-type closed package because they maintain the original product after being opened and closed. The flavor and freshness are very much in line with their needs.
Dan Miller, manager of packaging development at Hormel Foods, said, “Hormel Foods uses premium quality cooked food products made from cutting-edge packaging technology to improve product quality and make it easier for consumers to use. We offer a big selling point that is different from other products.Sliding closed packaging makes it easy to remove the product and reclose the packaging, and it can maintain the freshness and taste of the product. We think this new type of sliding closed packaging is about to become the packaging industry. Authoritative packaging."
The development of this packaging is completely commercial operation. According to reports, the sliding closed packaging was jointly developed by Hormel, Pacitv and Multiyac. Paciv made the drum feed system; Multiyac developed the seal feeder for the horizontal filler. It also produced a custom heat sealer that can vacuum pack and heat-seal the slides of flexible packaging films. The reel material used for sliding closures is supplied by Pechiney.
