The remote diagnosis and refreshing scheme based on ODX / OTX proposed by Wind Hill Technology and German Softing has been adopted by some OEMs and can be used for vehicle testing and after-sales phases.
Remote diagnosis and refresh means that the diagnosis terminal can access the vehicle diagnosis protocol through Ethernet based on the DoIP protocol, so as to realize the functions of basic diagnosis service, DTC code reading and clearing, and flashing.

DoIP diagnosis means that the diagnosis service introduced via UDS is used through TCP / IP and Ethernet to realize remote and high-speed diagnosis. This allows DoIP diagnosis to have a faster data rate than CAN diagnosis, thereby greatly saving time and cost in the case of complex diagnostic tasks and refreshing applications.
ISO standard 13400 specifies how to use Ethernet technology and Internet protocol for communication between external test equipment and the ECU in the car. DoIP diagnostics, like ISO-TP on the CAN bus, are used as the transmission protocol for UDS (Unified Diagnostic Service). But unlike it, IP diagnostics uses 100BASE-TX-twisted pair as the physical medium.
Remote diagnosis and refresh can be applied in the field of vehicle road testing. R & D personnel only need to locate faults and update Flash data in the R & D center, which can not only save manpower and costs, but also improve work efficiency.
