Founded in 1923 by DJ De Pree, Herman Miller is a 112-year-old, world-leading office furniture brand. The predecessor was the Michigan Star founded in 1905, and DJ De Pree was an employee. In 1923, he acquired Michigan Star with the help of his father-in-law, so he changed his name to Herman Miller in the name of his father-in-law.
