Qiong Yao (formerly known as Chen Hao) is a contemporary Chinese writer, a native of Zhajiang Town, Hengyang County, and currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan. In addition to Qiong Yao, the pen name also used the heart, the phoenix and so on. Born in Chengdu, Sichuan on April 20, 1938, with his father Chen Zhiping from mainland China to Taiwan in 1949.
Father Chen Zhiping is a university professor and his mother Yuan Xingshu was born in the book. After graduating from high school, he married and gave birth to a child. Then he stepped into the ranks of professional writers and entered the television and film production industry, during which the marriage broke down. Qiong Yao’s father, Chen Zhiping, was a professor at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Taiwan Normal University. Mother Yuan Xingshu was a national teacher at the Jianli State Middle School in Taipei. His grandfather Yuan Liheng was a banker and once held the Bank of Communications. The great-grandfather was Hanlin, and the uncle was the teacher of the Emperor Xuantong. Mother’s sister Yuan Jing is a writer. Mother’s sister, Yuan Xiaoyuan, is the first female diplomat and Chinese Pinyin inventor in China. Qiong Yao’s sister, Chen Jinchun and her brother-in-law, Chen Zhuangfei, both served as NASA scientists and General Sciences Corp. Co-founder of the Science and Technology Consultant Company is considered to be one of the pioneers of Chinese-American entrepreneurship in the United States.
