"High-grade plate printing technology development and research" is a research and development project of scientific research institutes issued by Yunnan Science and Technology Department. The main content is to print out 300 lines/inch offset proofs, and summarizes a set of offset printing technology on the basis of proofs. data. The project passed the acceptance test in December 2003. The project undertaker is Yunnan Institute of Printing Technology, and the partner is Yunnan Xinhua Printing Industry Corporation.
"High grade" means "high quality". In 1993, the concept of high-grade printing technology was put forward by the Japanese and a sample of high-grade printing technology research was made. The concept is to use high-precision amplitude modulation dot (300 lines/inch or more) copying technology, FM dot copying technology, high-fidelity copying technology, high-density copying technology, high-brightness copying technology, and a combination of these technologies, using multi-color offset printing. Copy originals and print high quality prints.
The "High-grade plate printing technology development research" project was officially launched in October 2002. The project team has reached the following consensus after repeated studies in response to the needs of printing companies and the requirements of research project contracts:
(1) Modern printing is a high-tech field integrating light, machine, electricity, and electricity. The technology is complex and the technical requirements are high. For example, color offset prints need to undergo complicated processes such as scanning and color separation, plate making, printing, and post-press processing. Errors may occur at each link, and the quality of each link can be effectively controlled and avoided, or these errors can be minimized. Maximizing the reproduction of manuscripts is the highest requirement for printing. However, printing companies have not established a "production data linkage" system platform, so the accuracy of the printed matter is more difficult to grasp, the quality is difficult to control, "it is not difficult to do a good print, it is difficult to do every print." Therefore, "production data linkage" is the focus of the project.
(2) 300 lines/inch high-definition prints compared to traditional fine prints. With high resolution, it can reproduce the details that can not be expressed by the traditional printing process, and the color is soft. Due to its small network and high definition, it expands a certain color gamut space and reproduces a smooth level that is nearly flat to a continuous tone like a photo, and has a stronger texture and can eliminate “rose spotsâ€.
The innovation of the "high-grade plate printing technology development and research" is the development and research of the 300-line/inch high-precision printed matter printing process, and it is a practical technique that has operability for most photographic originals.
(3) The use of FM (2 lμm) printing technology has basically eliminated the “rose spots†of prints and solved the problems of low input and high output.
(4) The project involves the application of new materials and new technologies. The color space of printed materials has been expanded, and ICC color management is even more important.
“127 samples of landscapes, still lifes, paintings, and character images were collected in the “Sample Research and Development of High-Quality Plate Printing Technology†and were printed using 300 lines/inch amplitude modulation or FM network dots (21 μm). The "sample" was scanned and separated by a Prinmescan roller scanner from Heidelberg, AGFA CTP was directly plated, and the Manroland R700 5-color offset printing machine was printed. The printing paper is 157g/m2 gold-dong coated paper, and the ink uses Arona four-color offset printing ink.
