Pactiv, Inc. of Illinois, USA, has introduced Microfoam XFS, a PP foam sheet for food packaging.
Microfoam XFS is available in a variety of sizes, including 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8 inch thickness options; 48, 60, and 72 inch equal width options, as well as 900, 600, and 450 foot equal length options. Microfoam XFS per square inch has up to 5,000 closed cells with thermal protection, breathability, cushioning, barriers, surface protection and thermal insulation.
The closed-cell PP foam sheet has a high coefficient of friction, and is particularly suitable for packaging fixed foods to prevent bruising or abrasion of meat or cooked foods.
