In the field of label printing, flexographic printing presses have high production efficiency. Many advantages such as good printing quality, thick ink layer, and stable hue are accepted by the label manufacturers. Printing labels using a flexographic printing press has become a development trend. Many manufacturers of letterpress printing presses have begun to produce flexographic printing presses. However, due to the limited choice of die-cutting methods for labels, a batch of label manufacturers wishing to invest in flexographic printing are discouraged, and manufacturers who have already used flexographic printing machines to produce labels have also had headaches.
The current major problems
(1) If the on-line flat die-cutting mode is selected, the investment is relatively large, and the cutting speed is limited, and the production efficiency is greatly reduced. Therefore, this method is rarely used at present.
(2) The use of on-line round-bore circular die cutting can increase the production efficiency (simultaneously with the printing speed), but its tool cost is high. Therefore, the batch size of a single product must be large enough, and the label production is mostly small-batch, multi-category. Therefore, to a great extent, it limits the choice of the overall round knife.
(3) The use of a magnetic knife roll and a die cutting knife can achieve the effect similar to that of the overall round knife, which reduces the use threshold of the round knife. However, when the circumference of a typesetting print repeats changes, the magnetic knife roll must be replaced, and the magnetic knife roll requires a lot of investment, and the delivery period is long and usually takes 2 months. If a large number of magnetic knife rolls of different specifications are configured, the manufacturer cannot bear it, so the number of prints of the products must reach a certain amount, or the printing perimeter should be matched with the existing specifications of magnetic knife rolls in typesetting.
(4) The use of offline die-cutting and die-cutting makes it cheaper to make a die-cut version. This is a method frequently used by many manufacturers, but its low production efficiency is not as good as that of on-line circular die-cutting. Add auxiliary equipment and support staff.
