What is cross-country skiing?

Cross-country ski technology is divided into traditional and free-style technology. Traditional techniques require athletes to shake in the game (including two-legged alternating taxiing, simultaneous taxiing, stepping on the taxi, sliding down, and turning, etc.) There must be no ice-skating (ie, side kick) movements. Freestyle technology does not limit the movement of athletes. The rules stipulate that the number of traditional events and freestyle events in the tournament should be half.

The basic techniques and methods of cross-country skiing can generally be classified into: flat-level taxiing, uphill taxiing, downhill and taxiing. There are many methods for gliding on the ground, but the main method is two-step alternating taxiing and simultaneous gliding. The basic posture of the two-step alternate gliding and the cooperation of the four limbs, like stepping forward and backward, are periodically performed on the snow using the thrust of the ankle support. Due to the action structure of this technology, the burden on various parts of the body can be made relatively uniform, so physical strength can be saved and fatigue can be delayed. Especially in the condition of poor snow slip, compared with other gliding methods, its efficiency is more significant.

In cross-country skiing, warfare is also important. The so-called tactics mainly refer to the distribution of physical strength during the entire course of the competition and the selection of different gliding techniques for different terrain features. For example, the downhill distance accounts for one-third of the total distance. When it is down, if it is in good physical condition, it can adopt a streamlined low posture slip to reduce air resistance and increase speed for time; but it is particularly fatigued in poor physical strength. Under circumstances, or in difficult terrain conditions, the posture can be higher, so that the body increases the wind's yin power, reduces the speed, prevents the falls from wasting more time, and at the same time avoids irritating psychological and negative emotions.
