Color inkjet printers typically use an inductive sensor to detect the amount of ink in the cartridge. The sensor prompts to replace the ink cartridge as soon as it detects that the amount of ink in one of the colors is less than the value set in the printer. In this case, we don't have to replace the ink tank immediately, otherwise it will cause unnecessary waste.
Since there is a sponge in the ink cartridge (original), when the printer first reported that the ink cartridge has been used up, there is still some ink left. We just need to take out the ink cartridge and put it back. The printer will think that it has been replaced with a new ink cartridge and it can be printed again. By repeating this step, the purpose of draining the ink cartridge can be achieved.
