About RFID, HF, and NFC

RFID is a general term for radio frequency technology. The common classifications in RFID are: LF (low frequency, HF (high frequency), UHF (ultra high frequency), 433 MHz (active), 2.45G (active).

Among them, the most widely used HF (high frequency) is divided into three communication protocols: 14443A, 14443B, and 15693. Among these three communication protocols, 14443B is China's second-generation ID card identification technology, so domestic regulation is very strict. There is no manufacturer to produce such a protocol reader. The 15693 protocol is more expensive, although there are some applications but less, the most common is the 14443A protocol.

In the 14443 agreement, some internationally renowned electronic information technology companies have used this protocol to launch some communication technologies. For example, a technology jointly developed by Sony Philips Nokia is called NFC technology, and some chip manufacturers have used this protocol to do some The proprietary name of the chip, such as the mifare card, the S50 card S70 card, the mifare card we often mention is the high frequency 14443A card.

The frequency corresponding to LF (low frequency) is 125K.134K, etc., the frequency corresponding to HF (high frequency) is 13.56MHZ, and the frequency range corresponding to UHF (Ultra High Frequency) is 860MHZ-930MHZ.

In summary: RFID includes LF HF UHF 433MHZ. 2.45GHZ, HF includes 14443A/B, 15963 and other protocols, and 14443A protocol includes NFC technology.
