Comrades engaged in printing, publishing, paper, professional statistics, and accounting often need to calculate the weight of each order and the number of orders per ton of paper.
When the paper leaves the factory, the unit is generally in tons, while the printing factory uses the order as the unit. This involves the problem of calculating how many orders per ton of paper. A batch of books were printed and shipped from the printing house to the bookstore. The order of the batch of books and papers is already known, but how many tonnage vehicles are needed for transportation, which involves the problem of calculating how many kilograms of paper per order, In actual work, such problems are often encountered. The above are just two examples.
Calculating the ream weight and reams per ton of paper is more troublesome and error-prone, so some comrades calculate the results item by item, then list them as checklists and publish them in relevant professional newspapers for professional use.
Their calculation method is generally like this (taking 787 × 1092 specifications as an example):
1. Find the area of each sheet (square meters): 0.787 × 1.092m2
2. Find the weight of each piece of paper (kg): 0.787 × 1.092 × gram weight ÷ 1000
3. Find the weight of each ream of paper (kg): 0.787 × 1.092 × weight ÷ 1000 × 500
4. Find the number of orders per ton of paper: 1000 ÷ the weight of each order of paper
In order to change this tedious calculation, I made some changes to the above formula 4:
Reams per ton of paper = 1000 / weight per ream
The weight of each ream of paper = (0.787 × 1.092 × gram weight) ÷ (1000 × 500)
The above formula can be written as:
Reams per ton of paper = 1000 / (0.787 × 1.092 × gram weight ÷ 1000 × 500)
= (1000 × 1000) / (0.787 × 1.092 × 500 × gram weight)
= (1000 × 1000) / (0.787 × 1.092 × 500)
= (2327.194195) × (1 / gram weight)
= 2327 / gram weight
Weight per ton of paper (kg) = 1000 / ream per ton of paper
Reams per ton of paper = 2327 ÷ gram weight
The above formula can be written as:
The weight of each ream of paper (kg) = 1000 / (2327 ÷ gram weight)
= (1000 × gram weight) / 2327
= (Gram weight / 2327) × 1000
After such a transformation, a very useful constant is obtained: 2327.
2327 ÷ gram weight = ream weight per ton of paper ÷ 2327 × 1000 = weight per ream of paper (kg)
The result calculated with 2327 is extremely accurate, with an error of only 0.8 ‰.
As for the paper of 850 × 1168, 880 × 1230 and 889 × 1194, the derivation method is exactly the same, the constants are 2015, 1848 and 1884 respectively.
As long as you remember the four constants 2327, 2015, 1848, and 1884, these four sizes of paper, no matter what the weight, it is easy to calculate the number of orders per ton of paper and the number of kilograms per order of paper (usually Engrave these four numbers on the back of the calculator).
