The Ministry of Science and Technology torch project demonstration meeting was informed that the Shanghai Institute of Industrial Microbiology has recently developed a method using corn as raw material, deep fermentation with Lactobacillus resistant Lt616.
Experiments have shown that this bacterial fermentation method has obvious advantages over the traditional method of fermenting L-lactic acid with Rhizopus oryzae: the fermentation time is shortened, and acid production rate, conversion rate, and lactic acid purity are all improved.
This fermentation method has created favorable conditions for L-lactic acid production in China to improve quality and reduce costs.
